体坛英语资讯：Atletico seal Tiago on two year deal

MADRID, July 20 -- Atletico Madrid this Wednesday confirmed the signing of Portuguese midfield player Tiago Cardoso on a permanent contract.

Tiago has agreed a two year deal with Atletico after being released by Italian side Juventus.

The midfielder had spent the past season and a half at Atletico on loan from Juventus and last season he made 31 appearances in the BBVA Primera Liga, helping his side to a seventh place finish.

"I am very happy and content to be able to continue with Atletico, because it is what I wanted to do," said Tiago after signing his contract.

The 30-year-old added that he expected to join up with his teammates this coming Friday after the Atletico squad returns from playing a pre-season tournament in Granada.

Atletico made their debut in the Europa League qualifying rounds on Thursday July 28 and Tiago should be available and in conditions to play in those all important matches.
