体坛英语资讯：Internacional blasts Figueirense 4-1

RIO DE JANEIRO, June 26 -- Host to Figueirense in the 6th round of the 2011 Brazilian Championship, Internacional cruised to a convincing 4-1 victory on Sunday.

The win marked Internacional's first win at home in the Beira Rio stadium in 68 days.

Internacional's scoring spree began in the 17th minute when D' Alessandro's corner kick found a wide-open Bolivar, heading the ball into the left side of the goal.

D' Alessandro assisted in another goal in the 20th minute, rolling the ball off to Oscar who then drilled the ball past a diving Figueirense keeper, Wilson.

Returning to the second half, Internacional increased its lead in the 58th minute when Ze Roberto passed the ball to Leandro Damiao who calmly controlled the ball in front of the net and fired a beautiful shot into the left side of the visiting team's goal.

Internacional's final goal came in the 80th minute when Gilberto stole the ball from the Figueirense defense and immediately rolled it off to a charging Ricardo Goulart who pounded the ball into the left side of Wilson's goal.

Figueirense scored its only goal in the 88th minute. Wellington Nem broke through the Internacional defense and fired a ball that banged off the left goalpost, trickled across the goal line and ricocheted off the right goalpost, entering the goal.

The long awaited win at home improves Internacional to ninth place with 9 points. Despite the loss, Figueirense remains with 9 points, but stands in 8th place, in front of Internacional based on goals scored.

In the 7th round of play, Figueirense will receive Santos on June 29 while on the following day Internacional will travel to face Atletico-MG.
