BERLIN, June 19 -- Schalke left back Christian Pander, 27, joined league rival Hannover until 2017 on a free transfer fee, Hannover sports director Joerg Schmadtke said on Sunday.
Christian Pander is a talented defender who made in seven-year only 78 matches and five goals due to recurring injuries.
"Christian can help us with his experience. He has demonstrated his particular class more than once. Our intensive medical checks were all good. Now we hope that he will quickly return to his know strength," Hannover sports director Joerg Schmadkte said.
Pander is a offensively minded left back and well known for his left hammer, his dangerous free kicks and his precise long pass play.
"I am looking forward to Hannover. The team has great potential, which has clearly shown the past season with a European League berth. I would like to continue this success with the team. Particularly gratifying is that I know already Mirko Slomka from Schalke. He is a diligent good coach, with whom I like to work together again," said the left back after the signing.
Christian Pander made two official matches for the German sqaud scoring one goal.
