MADRID, May 7 -- China's sixth seed Li Na failed to enter the final at the Madrid Masters tennis tournament, going down in straight sets to Petra Kvitova of Czech Republic in Saturday's semifinal clash.
It was their first meet between the two players and the 21-year-old Kvitova showed a solid form, overwhelming Li, the 2011 Australia Open finalist, 6-3, 6-1 in one hour and nine minutes.
Kvitova, seeded 16th here, meets fourth seed Victoria Azarenka of Belarus in the final. She will also reach the top ten for the first time in next week's WTA rankings.
The fourth seeded Azarenka disappointed Germany's Julia Goerges 6-4, 6-2 in the other semifinal.
