MADRID, April 17 -- Real Madrid and FC Barcelona drew 1-1 in the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium on Saturday night in a result that virtually guarantees Barcelona the league title.
Leo Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo both scored penalties in a game in which Barcelona enjoyed 70 percent of the ball and be disappointed not to win after Raul Albiol was sent off for Real Madrid early in the second half.

Elsewhere Valencia strengthened their grip on third place and an automatic qualification for the group stage of next season's Champions League thanks to a comfortable 3-0 win in Almeria.
Roberto Soldado's seventh goal in three games broke the deadlock after 50 minutes and further goals from Marius Stankevicius and Jordi Alba sealed what turned into an easy three points.

However, Fernando Llorente's 16th goal of the season levelled the scores and Iker Muniain took advantage of a terrible defensive mix up to score a last minute winner.
Finally Espanyol came back from behind on two occasions to draw 2-2 at home to Atletico Madrid. Koke scored for Atletico in the first minute of the game, before Pablo Osvaldo levelled eight minutes before half time.
