RIO DE JANEIRO, May 11 -- Corinthians manager, Edu Gaspar, announced on Wednesday that the soccer club has prepared a contract to offer the Netherlands' 35-year-old midfielder Clarence Seedorf.

Seedorf's contract expires in June with Italy's AC Milan.

Former Corinthians star striker Ronaldo is largely responsible for the approximation of Corinthians with Seedorf. The athlete is married to a Brazilian and is fluent in Portuguese, something that will help to ease his transition to the country.

According to Gaspar, Seedorf is already aware of the conditions and terms of Corinthians' proposal. The manager affirmed that only time will tell where the athlete will decide to continue to play.

Another Brazilian soccer team has openly expressed its interest in acquiring the well-known athlete: Flamengo. However, the club from Rio de Janeiro has not developed an official proposal for the athlete. AC Milan has also proposed a contract extension.

Also on Wednesday, Corinthians recognized the proposal from the Ukranian team Shakhtar Donetsk to acquire 22-year-old striker Dentinho.
