TOKYO, April 16 -- A woman from the All Japan Judo Federation (AJJF) has tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the total number of infections within the federation to 17.
Out of 39 staff members of Japan's judo governing body, 12 men and five women, including managing director Soya Nakazato, have tested positive for the new coronavirus.
A total of 26 had developed symptoms of the pneumonia-causing virus since April 1, one day after a meeting was held at the federation's headquarters in Tokyo's Bunkyo Ward.
The first positive case in the AJJF was confirmed on April 4.
AJJF said that it was unclear when and where the staff members had got infected.
