中共中央总书记、国家主席、中央军委主席习近平在全国禁毒工作先进集体和先进个人表彰会议上强调，坚持厉行禁毒方针，打好禁毒人民战争，推动禁毒工作不断取得新成效。

President Xi Jinping has called for efforts to continue the tough anti-drug stance and the people's battle against drugs in a bid to make new progress in drug control. Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, made the important instruction to a conference to commend organizations and individuals standing out in the nation's anti-drug work.

2019年6月24日，河北省邢台市公安局桥西分局民警向邢台市第五中学学生讲解毒品的危害。1987年6月12日至26日，联合国在维也纳召开了关于麻醉品滥用和非法贩运问题的部长级会议，会议提出了“爱生命、不吸毒”的口号。与会138个国家的3000多名代表一致同意将每年6月26日定为“国际禁毒日”，以引起世界各国对毒品问题的重视。

国际禁毒日到来之际，全国禁毒工作先进集体和先进个人表彰会议6月23日上午在北京召开。习近平作出重要指示，代表党中央，向受到表彰的先进集体和先进个人表示热烈的祝贺，向全国禁毒战线的同志们致以诚挚的慰问。习近平强调，各级党委和政府要坚持以人民为中心的发展思想，以对国家、对民族、对人民、对历史高度负责的态度，坚持厉行禁毒方针，打好禁毒人民战争，完善毒品治理体系，深化禁毒国际合作，推动禁毒工作不断取得新成效，为维护社会和谐稳定、保障人民安居乐业作出新的更大贡献。

当前，境内和境外毒品问题、网上和网下毒品犯罪相互交织，对群众生命安全和身体健康、对社会稳定带来严重危害，必须一如既往、坚决彻底把禁毒工作深入进行下去。

The intertwining drug problems at home and abroad, as well as related crimes both online and offline, are posing serious threats to people's lives and health and to social stability. Unremitting, decisive and thorough anti-drug efforts should be carried on.
