体坛英语资讯：Chinas 14th National Games to kick off recruitment for volunteers

XI'AN, April 2 -- The recruitment for the Games-time volunteers, the city volunteers and the social volunteers will start on Sept. 1, 2020, said the organizing committee of the 14th China's National Games on Wednesday.

According to the data released by the organizers of the 14th National Games, 15,000 Games-time volunteers will be needed for the big event and 10,000 for the National Disabled Games and China's special Olympics. Most of the volunteers of the National Disabled Games and China's special Olympics will be selected from those of the China's 14th National Games.

Besides the Games-time volunteers, 80,000 city volunteers and 200,000 social volunteers will be needed for the major events.

According to a National Games' recruitment plan for the volunteers released on Wednesday, the Games-time volunteers will be divided into three groups, including the general volunteers, the competition service volunteers, and the volunteers who will work in the media center and the organizing committee.

The first two kinds of Games-time volunteers will play 22 roles during the events, including athletes/referees guides, competition operators' assistants, venue operators at/for the opening and closing ceremonies, competition and/or other events of the Games among others.

The city volunteers will work in five kinds of areas including the airports, the railway stations, the main streets, the places of interests and the main shopping centers, while the social volunteers will help the government do some voluntary works in the communities of different cities in Shaanxi Province.

According to the plan, the Games-time volunteers are expected to be sourced mainly from local college students, the city volunteers mainly from local college students and the local enterprise employees, and the social volunteers mainly from local residents.

The recruitment work will be finished on May 31, 2021.

Multiple ways of application will be available to the public, including group and individual, online and offline. The application period for the Games-time volunteers will be open from Sept.1 - Oct.1, 2020. The city volunteers' application will be active from Jan. 1, 2021 to March 31, 2021. But applicants of the social volunteers can only register in their own communities from April 1, 2021 to June 30, 2021.?
