我家的这件珍品是由几种看起来极其普通的材料做成的，但它是在我的手中和父母的催促下完成的工艺品，它包含了我家的亲情。

This treasure of my family is made of several seemingly ordinary materials, but it is a handicraft finished under the urging of my hands and parents. It contains my family's affection.

小学五年级寒假的一天下午，我结束了一天的学习，突然心血来潮，想做一艘军舰模型。

我先设计了一个图纸，然后找来一些泡沫和十几根牙签儿，又去找锯条，可锯条有几年没用了，现在在那儿也不一定了。爸爸妈妈也来帮我找，可找了半天，仍没找到。我灰心丧气地坐在小板凳上，毫无目的地看着图纸和材料。妈妈走过来说：“要不然，咱先不做，等过几天妈妈给你买一根锯条再做。”我想了想，说：“拿刀刻，我今天也得做！”说完就要拿小刀。妈妈有些不耐烦，想说点什么，这时只听爸爸喊道：“锯条找到啦！”我一听，心里十分高兴，接过爸爸递来的锯条，就做了起来，妈妈也不再说什么了。

I took the saw blade from my father and made it. My mother didn't say anything anymore.

可真正动起手来才知道事情不像先前想得那么简单。首先是做舰身用的泡沫厚度不够，不过这个个问题好解决，两块泡沫合起来，先用牙签固定，锯出舰头后再用透明胶固定也就搞定了。最关键的问题在于牙签不够，原先拿的牙签用完后，仅仅是把军舰部分炮塔组装在了一起，“炮管”、“炮塔”、“导弹”需要更多的牙签。我又拿了八、九根牙签，但它们仍微不足道，我只好再拿十几根，总算装齐了“炮管”，“炮塔”和“导弹”。为了使我的军舰看上去不那么单调，我又拿了四根牙签作“桅杆”，用几根绳作“缆绳”点缀了一下，它就完成了。

After the toothpicks are used up, only part of the turrets of the warship are assembled together. More toothpicks are needed for gun barrel, turret and missile. I took eight or nine toothpicks, but they were still insignificant. I had to take a dozen more, and finally installed the "barrel", "turret" and "missile". In order to make my warship look less monotonous, I took four toothpicks as "masts" and dotted them with several ropes, and it was finished.

但是，我的这艘“军舰”引来了父母的许多唠叨，原因是：我答应一小时内完工，但实际耗时两小时半，一直做到晚上八点半，这让父母一次又一次地催我吃饭。爸爸还给我开玩笑说：“王工程师，暂停罢，这样工作会累垮的！”

But in this respect, my father is very supportive. He thinks that since we have to do something well, every time my mother blames me for toothpick, he will always help me to talk.

妈妈虽然嫌它造价昂贵，但对我的创意，和它的精致却赞不绝口，并小心翼翼地把它放在电话机上。
