《太阳的后裔》在网络上鼎沸至极，各路衍生话题分分钟抢占各大热搜榜单，更有网友调侃，“现在国内妹子们的‘国民老公’已经从都教授换成了宋仲基了”。这火到没朋友的《太阳的后裔》与网络独播平台爱奇艺，究竟是谁成就了谁？

Chinese audiences accustomed to watching free or even pirated TV shows on their phones and tablets are now paying for VIP packages to watch a popular Korean drama online.

习惯于在手机和平板上观看免费甚至盗版电视剧的中国观众，如今为了在网上观看韩国流行剧而付费购买VIP服务。

Descendants of the Sun is a record-breaking 16-episode rom-com broadcast on Korean channel KBS2. It dominates the Wednesday-Thursday evening slot and was watched by a staggering 31.6 percent of the Korean audience on Thursday.

16集韩国浪漫喜剧《太阳的后裔》在韩国KBS2电视台播放后收视率爆表，占据了周三四的晚间时段，上个周四的收视率高达31.6%。

Exclusive rights to stream the show in China are owned by iQiyi.

爱奇艺网站成为这部韩剧在中国的网络独播平台。

In December of last year, iQiyi had 10 million paying users. Zhang Yuxin, an intellectual property rights (IPR) manager at the provider, claims more than 1.2 billion views on the series since it premiered on Feb 24.

去年12月，爱奇艺有1000万付费用户。爱奇艺版权管理中心总经理张语芯称，《太阳的后裔》于2月24日首播后，播放量已超12亿次。

IQiyi estimates that at least 3 million new VIP users have signed up to watch.
