SYDNEY, May 27 -- China have made it to the final of badminton's Sudirman Cup in Australia on Saturday, after edging Japan 3-2 in a nail-biting thriller on the Gold Coast.

With the score all tied up at 2-2, the spirited Japanese managed to force the contest right down to the wire, but the nerves and skill of Chen Qingchen and Jia Yifan, in the deciding women's doubles match, sealed the win and China's place in Sunday's final.

In the other semifinal match, South Korea earned their place in the last two by overcoming Thailand, with an impressive 3-1 victory.
