How to Deal with Disappointment
When it comes to dealing with disappointment, there are two totally different reactions: a negative one and a positive one. The aspiring idea goes to the latter as positive reactions to the disappointment lead to a better life. I can't agree with it any more.
When facing depression, many people are very likely to complain instead of trying to dig out the reasons behind it. On the contrary, if they react positively towards disappointment, they will learn how to struggle against adversity. This isn't a piece of cake, but it's the only effective way to handle the inevitable part of life. In the movie Forrest Gump, the hero Forrest Gump has a hard time in childhood. The majority of people tease him about his low intelligence and disabled feet, while his mother, a proud single woman, believes in Forrest and wants her son to live a normal life. Only by holding that belief, Forrest Gump, though disabled, lives a fabulous life and gives us a profound insight.
All in all, disappointment is like a storm in a sunny day. It is obvious that the weather is in the hand of the nature not us. As heavy wind blows and dark clouds gather, we know the storm is coming. Having no time to complain, we need to find the nearest shelter for it. Do you remember the rainbow after the rain? Just take an optimistic attitude towards disappointment because life is always like this.

Follow Your Own Course
Great Italian poet Dante once said, “Follow your own course, and let people talk.” What we can learn from this motto is that whatever we do, we must follow our own heart rather than let the noise of others' opinions drown out our own inner voice.
In our life, more often than not, each of us has to make various choices. Whatever decision we make, we should bear the principle in mind that the decision is made on the basis of our own will. College students, for example, have to make a hard and crucial decision upon job-hunting after graduation. Between a rewarding job that we have no interest and a favorite job with lower pay, our parents and friends may advise us to choose the former one, insisting that when there is a high salary we will have passion to do the work. However, that passion is transient and will disappear quickly. Conversely, for the things we are interested in, we'll try our best to do them well and work more smoothly.
For all of us, no one can live our lives except ourselves. Therefore, I arrive at the conclusion that the most important thing in our life is to follow our own heart and do what we really enjoy.

The Value of Reading
Some people often say that gold and silver are the most valuable things in the world. However, I have my reservations. In my submission, reading is more valuable than anything else. It's well known that books are the quintessence of human wisdom. Reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body. There are many famous sayings about reading throughout the history such as “Reading makes a full man.” Indeed, the importance of reading can never be too much stressed.
It cannot be denied that reading books increases our knowledge, widens our sight, enriches our experience, strengthens our character and leads us to success. Furthermore, reading books makes us a better person and helps us find the meaning of life. That's why people always say “Book is the stepping stone to human progress.”
One is never too old to learn. No matter at what time we realize the importance of reading, we can enjoy it during the rest of our life and finally we'll see that it is rewarding. After forming the habit of reading, we find it easier to absorb new knowledge that will make our life a more colourful one.
