PARIS, Jan. 26 -- Veteran Florent Balmont gifted Dijon a 2-1 home win against Rennes with one goal and one assist on Friday before the weekend's 23rd round action in Ligue 1.

Balmont, 37, put Dijon in front on the half-hour mark, as he was left unmarked to fire past goalkeeper Tomas Koubek at his near post.

It took Rennes just over 10 minutes to level the score. 19-year-old Ismaila Sarr was on position to convert Benjamin Bourigeaud's cross into the net.

Balmont's brilliant performance of the match was not over. He managed to dish out an assist for Julio Tavares to head home in the 65th minute.

Dijon moved up to the 10th position, while Rennes remained eighth on table.

League leaders Paris Saint-Germain, who tallied 68 goals from 22 matches, can expect mean defense at home on Saturday against Montpellier, as the latter conceded league-best 15 goals.

Lyon, eight points adrift PSG after winning last weekend's duel, will visit Bordeaux on Sunday. Third-ranked Marseille set up a 'six-point' clash against fourth-placed side Monaco.
