FOSSURMER, France, June 3 -- A Scottish U21 team reached the semifinals of the Toulon Tournament following a 2-1 victory over South Korea on Saturday.
Scotland made a fantastic start as Billy Gilmour opened the scoring with a left-footer. Six minutes later, Oliver Burke sent a shot to the center of the goal.
With two goals down, South Korea earned several free kicks, but it was not until the 76th minute did they convert one.
The South Korean U21 side was eliminated on three losses from the group, while its opponent moved up with two victories and one draw.
In the other group game, France thrashed Togo 2-0 to rank second to Scotland.
The Toulon Tournament has 12 teams drawn into three groups of four. The group winners and the best second-placed team will qualify for the semifinals.
