国内英语资讯:Senior CPC official stresses cultural confidence in fine arts

BEIJING, Dec. 22 -- A senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official has stressed cultural confidence and people-centered direction in the work of fine art.

Huang Kunming, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks at the ninth national congress of the China Artists Association.

Huang urged artists to integrate Chinese esthetics into artistic creations, paint while keeping the Chinese people in mind and strive to create masterpieces.

He also said China has seen a group of outstanding fine art pieces in the past four decades since the reform and opening-up, which has made important contributions to people's aspirations for better lives and helping socialist literature and art to flourish.
