BUENOS AIRES, March 3 -- A first-half goal from Dario Cvitanich fired Racing Club to a 1-0 home victory over Estudiantes on Sunday as Eduardo Coudet's side edged closer to the Superliga Argentina title.
Cvitanich netted his second goal of the campaign just after the half-hour mark at the Cilindro and it was enough to hand Racing their 16th win in 21 matches.
The team from Avellaneda, on the southeastern outskirts of Buenos Aires, are now six points clear of second-placed Defensa y Justicia, who have a game in hand with just over a month remaining in the season.
Meanwhile, Huracan dropped to seventh after Federico Bravo's 56th minute strike handed Patronato a 1-1 home win in the northeastern city of Parana. Patronato moved up to 20th in the 26-team standings, three points ahead of last-placed San Lorenzo.
In other matches on Sunday, Talleres Cordoba won 2-0 at home to Colon and hosts Gimnasia beat Independiente 1-0.
