WASHINGTON, March 21 -- China's wildcard tennis player Wang Xinyu lost to qualifier Misaki Doi of Japan 6-2, 1-6, 6-3 in the first round at the Miami Open on Thursday.

The 17-year-old Wang, ranking 305th in the world, lost the match after battling for one hour and 36 minutes.
