BEIJING, May 5 -- With the comeback of veteran Sun Wenyan, China had a strong and solid performance to win the free combination while Canada took the other two golds in solo free routine and highlight routines at the Beijing stage of the FINA Artistic Swimming World Series here on Sunday.

China performed the same theme Stormy Ocean that they won their first ever world title in Budapest 2017, claimed the gold medal of the free combination with 94.9000 points. Ukraine came to second with 86.2667.

Sun, who made her comeback to the national team at the end of 2018 after a two-year absence, felt like she had never left.

"I am in a very good shape, better than I was. I feel more powerful and stronger and I am happy to come back to the national team," Sun said with a smile.

"Since the free combination has been reduced by half a minute to four minutes, we made some changes to the original routine, and the new choreography becomes more difficult and intensive with faster movement. We did a good job today," Sun added.

Jacqueline Simoneau of Canada who won the technical on Saturday, took one more title in the solo free routine with 90.4333, beating Nevena Dimitruevic of Serbia to the second in 78.1000.

In the highlight routine, Canada stood atop with 89.1000, followed by France that performed joyful Cancan in the water for 86.9333.

Monday will feature three finals of mixed duet free, duet free and team free routine, together with a gala show as the bonus of the three-day FINA Artistic Swimming World Series.
