体坛英语资讯：World top bowlers to vie in Indonesia this year

JAKARTA, May 7 -- The world best bowlers will feature in an international competition in Indonesia at the end of the year, a local official said on Tuesday.

The tournament is slated from November 16 to 24 at the Jakabaring Sport City in the provincial capital of South Sumatra of Palembang, chairman of the provincial bowling association Percha Leanpuri revealed.

"Each nation is only allowed to send two of their best athletes, 1 man and 1 woman," he was quoted by Tempo media as saying in Palembang city.

Accordingly, the chairman said, as many as 150 bowlers and officials are expected to participate in the sport event.

Gearing up to the event, promotion offshore will be undertaken to ratchet up the number of participating teams, as the association looks to around 100 squads.
