体坛英语资讯：Suarez, Cavani named in Uruguay squad for China Cup

MONTEVIDEO, March 1 -- Barcelona striker Luis Suarez and Paris Saint-Germain forward Edinson Cavani have been included in Uruguay's preliminary squad for this month's China Cup.

Atletico Madrid defenders Diego Godin and Jose Maria Gimenez and Juventus pair Martin Caceres and Rodrigo Bentancur were also named on the Celeste's 27-man list for the friendly tournament.

In addition, there was a place for uncapped full-back Giovanni Gonzalez, who has impressed coach Oscar Tabarez with his form for local club Penarol.

The South American team will face Uzbekistan on March 22 and either Thailand or hosts China three days later.

Uruguay won last year's edition of the China Cup by defeating Wales 1-0 in the final courtesy of a goal from Cavani.
