1. Give yourself a year to find true love
What do you do when you have a goal or a dream? You write down a plan and a series of steps to take to make that happen, right? It might seem strange to do that when you want to meet someone, but it's a good idea because you'll feel clear and calm and organized in your quest to find true love. It's better than being sad that you're single and wondering why you've been single for too long.
When you're single for too long, here's one thing that you can do: give yourself a year to find true love. It's enough time to not stress out about a bad date here and there. It's also a realistic timeframe. Chances are, within a few months or even a few weeks, you could go on an amazing first date or meet a guy through friends or work who is absolutely perfect for you.
2. Believe the cliché: you'll meet him when you don't think that you will
Sorry about this… but the cliché really is true. When you're single, you have friends and family tell you that "you'll meet the right guy when you don't think that you will" or "when you're not expecting it." It's tempting to roll your eyes when they give you this advice.
Why not believe them? You definitely know couples who met when they thought that they would never find anyone who was perfect for them. It worked for them and it can work for you.
Cliches can be really comforting, particularly when you're going through a hard time. A cliché is a reminder that things do work out and that everything is going to be okay.
3. Listen to your friends and family because they just might know what's good for you
Being a single girl means getting advice from friends, family, and even strangers. Everywhere you are, from websites to magazines to even love songs and movies and novels, you're getting some kind of advice about meeting the one and finding love.
