YANGON, May 13 -- The Myanmar-China Friendship Association on Sunday laid down a seven-point program to be implemented in the future, with the association chairman U Sein Win Aung calling for building friendship with neighboring countries.
The program, adopted at the 5th annual meeting of the Myanmar-China Friendship Association (Central) held in Yangon, is aimed at promoting Myanmar-China relations, boosting people-to-people exchanges, and stepping up cooperation in the fields of economy, social affairs, health and education.
It also includes extension of branches of the association in regions and states in the country. According to the meeting, establishment of branches of the association have been extended to Mandalay, Lashio, Mawlamyine and Taunggyi in addition to the Yangon central branch.
Expressing delight over the annual meeting, Counselor of the Chinese Embassy Li Xiaoyan expressed the willingness to continue to cooperate with the association to jointly enhance the China-Myanmar Paukphaw (fraternal) friendship.
The Myanmar-China Friendship Association (Central) was established on May 30, 2013, with the aim of enhancing friendship between peoples of the two countries and carrying out socio-economic undertakings that benefit both peoples.
