C
由首句中的being unemployed for a long period is bad for your health可知,此处说明的对象是失业,故此处填losing。
2. 答案

3. 答案
B
4. 答案
D

5. 答案
A
由下文中的some unemployed people ... others ...

go without“没有……
13. 答案
A
16. 答案
A

Many parents dream of their children growing into healthy, well adjusted adults, moving out of home and heading out into the big, wide world. But when the couple Monique and Graeme Ford’s three children began to leave the nest, they realized they still had a lot of love to give. After putting some careful thought into it, the dairy farmers from Blowhard, north of Ballarat, decided to become foster(代养的) parents.
In five years, they’ve cared for seven different children, and a pair of brothers, aged 10 and 15, and currently their home is called the farm home. For Monique, the assistance of family and friends has been critical, and while it’s been a rewarding experience, there have certainly been challenges.
The depth of affection and care is obvious to anybody watching Monique and Graeme interact with their older foster son, who has been part of the family for more than two years. Monique says it’s important to treat foster kids like your own children.
Most of the children they’ve cared for have been teenage boys, and Monique sees their rural lifestyle as a huge plus. Then there’s a lot to do. All boys like motorbikes, tractors and animals. It’s a busy life, and I think that’s really what they need, rather than a lot of time to think a lot.
The experience has opened the minds of Monique, Graeme and their three kids, and made them more aware of the world around them and the different challenges people face. Monique says when her grown kids are at home, they not only help with discipline but also have a lot of fun with the boys.
According to the Foster Care Association of Victoria, the need for new carers is urgent, ongoing and growing. Monique says she would recommend the experience to everybody.
?To be able to, hopefully, help a child on the right path and set them straight, and know that we’re going to be there forever for them, even when they leave, is really great. It certainly brings you more rewards than what you ever expected.”

Exercise is one of the few factors with a positive role in long-term control of body weight. ___1___ Most Americans still would rather try switching to light beer and low-calorie bread than increase physical exercise. A. Even exercise professionals admit half a point here.
B. And that idea is now deeply rooted in the minds of most Americans.

第1处:the改为a。
keeping ...
第4处:up改为down。
第7处:So改为But。
第8处:his改为their。their与该句中的主语the men在意义上一致。
此处的waiting后跟不定式to greet them ...作宾语,wait for后跟名词或代词或sb. to do sth.
be surprised to do sth.

Wechat is a new way for connecting people, which supports voice, photo, video and text messages. But these functions require the users to have the app installed on a supported mobile phone. Wechat is very convenient for people to express their feelings instantly at any time. Besides, it provides a chance for people to release their inner stress. By showing their pictures and emotions, their friends may know about their conditions and can offer timely response. However, wechat can also be potentially dangerous as it may give away people’s privacy and other significant information. In conclusion, wechat provides us with large quantities of information as well as emotional comfort, but we should be careful while using it.
