国际英语资讯:St. Petersburg expands recruitment of labor migrants from Central Asia to prevent terrorism

ST. PETERSBURG, April 13 (Xinhua) -- The organized recruitment of labor migrants from Central Asia in St. Petersburg has received federal support and will be expanded in 2017.

TASS reports that St. Petersburg Labor and Employment Committee considers it as a means to prevent terrorism. Employees that were recruited via this system can't use false documents and have no reason to contact with radical groups.

In 2016, 295 citizens of Tajikistan and 52 citizens of Kyrgyzstan were hired in Russia via the organized recruitment program, about 1200 people received work permits in St. Petersburg with the assistance of the

Center for Human Resources.

In 2017, migrants from Uzbekistan will also be able to participate this program.

On April 3, a suicide bomber organized the explosion in St. Petersburg subway, killing 15, and dozens of others were injured.
