For example, your old belief was: “I love cigarette because __1__ makes me feel good and __2__(relax). I need cigarette to be happy and relaxed.” If you keep this belief, you won’ t be able to keep your resolution __3__(stop)smoking for very long. Instead, you should adopt this new belief: “I love yoga because it makes me feel good and relaxed. Cigarette is toxic __4__ destroys my body. Yoga makes me happy.” You should analyze your beliefs and make sure they won’ t stop you from changing your habits. The __5__ is true when you try to form positive habits. If you want to start eating healthy food, here are some positive beliefs you should start thinking about: “Healthy food is very good __6__ my health. It gives me a lot of energy and I feel very good.”

Everybody can change. All it takes is courage and __7__ (commit). Decide right now!to improve __8__ life by changing your habits. Take action right now! Don’ t be afraid. Yes, you will probably make mistakes along the way. But never forget __9__ success is guaranteed for you if you have positive habits in your life. If you refuse to quit, success __10__(be) yours.

  [答案] it

由下文“I need cigarette to be happy and relaxed”可得出答案。

  [答案] relaxed

  [答案] to stop

  [答案] and

  [答案] same

be good for sb./sth.“对……有益处”。句意:健康食物对我的健康是有益处的。

  [答案] for

  [答案] your

注意动词forget后的内容“success is guaranteed for you if you have positive habits in your life”成分完整,故此处应用that。

  [答案] that

条件句“If you refuse to quit”用了现在时表示将来,主句需要用将来时。

  [答案] will be

Food sometimes gets poisoned with harmful things. A person who eats such food can get an illness called food poisoning. Food poisoning is usually not serious, but some types are deadly. The symptoms of food poisoning usually begin within hours of eating the poisoned food. Fever is one of the most common symptoms.

Certain microorganisms(微生物) cause most types of food poisoning. Bacteria and other microorganisms can poison eggs, meat, vegetables, and many other foods. After entering the body, these tiny living things release(释放) poisons that make people sick.

Some chemicals can also cause food poisoning. They are often added to food while it is being grown, processed, or prepared. For example, many farmers spray chemicals on crops to kill weeds and insects. Some people may have a bad reaction to those chemicals when they eat the crops.

Some plants and animals contain natural poisons that are harmful to people. These include certain kinds of seafood, grains, nuts, seeds, beans, and mushrooms.

When people handle food properly, the risk of food poisoning is very small. Microorganisms multiply rapidly in dirty places and in warm temperatures. This means that people should never touch food with dirty hands or put food on unwashed surfaces. Food should be kept in a refrigerator to stop microorganisms from growing. Meat needs to be cooked thoroughly to kill any dangerous microorganisms. People should also wash food covered with chemicals before eating it. Finally, people should not eat wild mushrooms or other foods that grow in the wild. Some of these foods may contain natural materials that are poisonous to humans. In addition, some types of fish can be poisonous.

Most people recover from food poisoning after a few days of resting and drinking extra water. If people eat natural poisons, they must go to the hospital right away to have their stomachs emptied.

  A. some chemicals B. low temperatures

For those who are tired of doing the laundry, Samsung has found an answer: a washing machine that can tell you when your laundry is done via a smartphone app (application) .

Strange though it may seem—“my wife already does that”was a common response among attendees viewing the device when it was introduced at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) this week—Samsung is just one of many appliance makers racing to install (安装) a large number of internet- connected features in machines in an effort to make them“smart. ”

Last year, it was a refrigerator that tweeted. This year, it’s Wi- Fi- enabled laundry machines and fridges that can tell you when your groceries are going bad.

The washers and dryers, available starting in the spring, connect to any smartphone through a downloadable application. The phone can then be used as a remote control, so the machines can be turned on and off while their owner is at work or on the bus.

Samsung says it’s not just something new—the app connection actually has some practical uses.

“If you started to dry clothes in the morning and forgot to take them out, you can go to your phone and restart your dryer for the time when you come home, so your clothes are refreshed and ready to go, ”said spokesperson Amy Schmidt.

The company also says that with electricity rates (电价) varying depending on the time of day, more control over when the machines are used can help save money.

Perhaps, but what they will probably really accomplish is what all good technologies do—enable laziness. Rather than getting up to check on whether the laundry is done, users will instead monitor it on their phones while watching TV.

  1. What can be inferred from the common response of the attendees at the CES?

  A. The machine will be a big success. B. Their wives like doing the laundry.

  C. The machine is unrelated to their life.D. This kind of technology is familiar to them.

  2. What can we learn about the new laundry machines?

  A. They can tell you when your clothes need washing.

  B. They can be controlled with a smartphone.

  C. They are difficult to operate.

  D. They are sold at a low price.

  3. We can conclude from Samsung’s statements that .

  A. the app connection makes life easier

  B. it is better to dry clothes in the morning

  C. smartphones can shorten the drying time D. we should refresh clothes back at home

  4. What is the main idea of the last paragraph?

  A. The laundry should be frequently checked. B. Lazy people like using such machines.

  C. Good technologies also cause problems.D. Television may help do the laundry.
