Men who watch porn are more likely to feel unsatisfied in their relationships, according to a new study.

一项最新研究显示，那些看色情电影的男人会更容易对恋爱关系感到不满足。

But, the same could not be said for women.

Researchers analyzed 50 studies on the link between porn and satisfaction, including data from more than 50,000 people, which revealed higher instances of dissatisfaction among male porn-viewers.

In the study, published this month to Human Communication Research, researchers from Indiana University and the University of Hawaii conducted a meta-analysis of 50 studies to better understand the effect of porn on a person's overall satisfaction.

'Does consuming pornography have any discernible impacts on consumers' satisfaction?' the authors wrote. 'And if so, is this impact negative or positive?'

'These questions have stimulated a large number of studies, but uncertainty about their answers remains among communication scholars.'

Their analysis included a combined dataset of more than 50,000 people from 10 countries, and addressed 'the interpersonal domains of sexual and relational satisfaction and the intrapersonal domains of body and self-satisfaction.'

While porn-viewing was not found to be related to a person's intrapersonal satisfaction, the researchers found it did reflect lower satisfaction in relationships.

But, only for men. Women, on the other hand, were not found to show any connection between porn-watching habits and happiness in their relationships, Cosmo reports.

According to the researchers, it could be that men who are more inclined to watch porn are unhappy in their relationships independent from this behaviour.

And, it could also suggest that porn leads to unreasonable expectations for sex, leading to disappointment in real life situations.
