  陕西咸阳市2016高考英语(二轮)七选五类任务型阅读选练(6)

  【2016模拟题】第二节七选五

The Internet has opened up a whole new online world for us to meet, chat and go where we’ve never been before.

But just as in face to face communication, there are some rules of behavior that should be followed when on line. 36Imagine how you’d feel if you were in the other person’s shoes.

For anything you’re about to send: ask yourself, “Would I say this to the person’s face?” If the answer is no, rewrite and reread. 37.

If someone in the chat room is rude to you, your instinct (本能) is to fire back in the same manner. But try not to do so.38If it was caused by a disagreement with another member, try to fix the situation by politely discussing it. Remember to respect the beliefs and opinions of others in the chat room.

39 Offer advice when asked by newcomers, as they may not be sure what to do or how to communicate. When someone makes a mistake, whether it’s a stupid question or an unnecessarily long answer, be kind about it. If it’s a small mistake, you may not need to say anything. Even if you feel strongly about it, think twice before saying anything. Having good manners yourself doesn’t give you license to correct everyone else. 40 At the same time, if you find you are wrong, be sure to correct yourself and apologize to those that you have offended.

It is not polite to ask others personal questions such as their age, sex and marital status. Unless you know the person very well, and you are both comfortable with sharing personal information, don’t ask such questions.

  A. It’s natural that there some people who speak rudely or make mistakes online.

  B. Repeat the process till you feel sure that you’d feel comfortable saying the words to the person’s face.

  C. Everyone was new to the network once.

  D. The basic rule is simple: treat others in the same way you would want to be treated.

  E. When you send short messages to a person online, you must say something beautiful to hear.

  F. You should either ignore the person, or use your chat software to block their messages.

  G. If you do decide to tell someone about a mistake, point it out politely.

The fast development of Internet makes it convenient for people to have access to the latest information all over the world, which broadens people's horizons. However, sometimes the Internet is abused by some to spread rumors(谣言)on purpose, resulting in side effect on people's life. Therefore, The Internet Society of China released a written proposal last Monday which demanded of Internet companies and websites to strengthen selfdiscipline and prevent the spread of online rumors.

Three major websites in China voiced their solutions Tuesday to fight against online rumors in response to the warning on Monday.

Chiefs of sina.com, baidu.com and qq.com have promised the government that they will firmly cooperate with relevant departments to deal with the online spreading of rumors, saying they will improve selfmanagement and take effective measures toward this goal.

Microblogging websites should not be a hotbed for spreading of rumors, said a chief of sina.com, which operates the country's most popular microblogging site Weibo.com.He said Sina was making efforts to control the release of contents on Weibo.com and improve its ability to find out and remove rumors posted on it.

Weibo.com and another major Chinese microblogging site qq.com stopped their comment functions from March 31 to April 3 after they were punished for allowing rumors to spread.

A chief from Baidu.com said it was calling off illegal and fake(虚假)information in its search results and it would further increase technical and manpower investment to remove disinformation.

The website qq.com is learning from the past experience and bettering the safety strategy for its microblogging service to further prevent the spreading of online rumors through microblogging sites, said an unnamed chief from qq.com.

The measure has received widespread support from users and now people can enjoy a relative clean and safe net environment.

My name is Clara. I still remember that chilly December day, sitting in science class. I'd finished a worksheet early and picked up a TIME for Kids magazine. A piece of news caught my eye: NASA was holding an essay contest to name its Mars rover(火星探测器).Before I even knew anything else about it,a single word flooded my 11yearold mind: Curiosity.

I couldn't want for the bell to ring so I could get started on my essay. That afternoon, I raced home, sat down at the computer, and typed until my fingers ached. “Curiosity is an everlasting flame that burns in everyone's mind...”

Five months later, my mom received a phone call, and immediately, a wide smile spread across her face.

On August 5,2017,at 10:31 p.m., the rover named Curiosity touched down safely on the surface of Mars, and I was honored to have a frontrow seat in NASA.

Curiosity is such an important part of who I am. I have always been fascinated by the stars, the planets, the sky and the universe. I remember as a little girl, my grandmother and I would sit together in the backyard for hours. She'd tell me stories and point out the stars. Grandma lived in China, thousands of miles away from my home in Kansas, but the stars kept us together even when we were apart. They were always there, yet there was so much I didn't know about them. That's what I love so much about space.

People often ask me why we go to faraway places like Mars. My answer is simple because we're curious. We human beings do not just hole_up in one place. We are constantly wondering and trying to find out what's over the hill and beyond the horizon.
