NEW YORK, Feb. 28 (Xinhua) -- Penn Badgley, best known for his role in American television series Gossip Girl, has married singer Domino Kirke.

The two said "I do" at a courthouse in Brooklyn, New York City, on Monday among several of their friends and family members who shared photos of the beaming couple on their social media accounts.

Kirke shared an Instagram photo of herself in a white dress next to Badgley with the caption "married".

Kirke's sister, Jemima Kirke, star of television series "Girls", tweeted her congratulations: "it's all downhill from here. In a good way!"

Badgley portrays Dan Humphrey in the CW Television Network series Gossip Girl (2007-2017). The drama is based on the book series of the same name by Cecily von Ziegesar, which revolves around the lives of socialite young adults growing up on New York City's Upper East Side. In 2011, Badgley was named one of People magazine's "25 Beauties (and Hotties) at 25".
