On the International Day of Peace, the United Nations calls for a complete cessation of hostilities around the world.

今天是国际和平日，联合国呼吁在世界范围内全面停止敌对行动。

We also ask people everywhere to observe a minute of silence, at noon local time, to honour the victims — those who have lost their lives, and those who survived but must now cope with trauma and pain.

我们也要求各地人民在当地时间正午静默一分钟，以纪念受害者，包括丧生者，以及现在不得不面对伤害、苦痛的幸存者。

The theme of this year’s observance is “Sustainable Peace for a Sustainable Future”. Armed conflicts attack the very pillars of sustainable development. Natural resources must be used for the benefit of society, not to finance wars. Children should be in school, not recruited into armies. National budgets should focus on building human capacity, not deadly weapons.

今年纪念活动的主题是“为可持续未来创造可持续和平”。武装冲突是对可持续发展根本支柱的冲击。自然资源必须用于造福社会，而不是资助战争。儿童应该上学，而不是去当兵。国家预算的重点应当是人力建设，而不是致命武器。

On the International Day of Peace, I call on combatants around the world to find peaceful solutions to their conflicts. Let us all work together for a safe, just and prosperous future for all.

值此国际和平日之际，我呼吁全世界战斗人员寻求和平解决冲突的办法。让我们一道努力，为所有人营造安全、公正和繁荣的未来。
