Should Science and Arts Education Be Separated?
The issue of separating science and arts education is getting heated up as debate spreads across the country, which attracts tens of thousands of votes.
About 50% of the people interviewed think it unwise to get arts and science separated in high school. In their opinion, a real expert needs a wide range of knowledge. With the development of modern society, multi-skilled people are in great demand. However, another 43% of them insist that they should be separated so that students can concentrate on some subjects and become experts. Besides, they will not be overburdened as before.
As far as I’m concerned, a comprehensive education is better than a separated one. A strong ability in both science and arts is helpful for the long-term development of individuals and the society as a whole. Worldwide, only in China science and arts are separated, which has had a bad effect on students’ sound development. It's high time we changed this model.
2.
Happiness
Happiness means different things to different people. For example, some students believe that if they have a lot of money they will be happy, because they think they will be able to do anything they want to do and buy anything they want with the money. Some students think that they should be in good health so that they can enjoy their life better. Many students wish to have much wealth from their parents. In this way they don’t have to work hard, and they can own everything. I don’t really agree with the above points. I don’t think money means happiness. We can’t buy many important thins with money, such as health, happiness, and knowledge. I value knowledge, which makes me happy, for I can do much for mankind with knowledge.
Although different people value happiness differently, my “wealth” of happiness is in my study.

Robert Burns, a famous Scottish poet, was born into a poor farmer’s family. Although he only received two and a half years’ schooling , he managed to read a large number of poems and novels in his spare time. His first collection of poems was completed in 1786. Once published, it attracted the attention of readers and poets because of its simple style. And soon Burns’ works stood out among other Scottish poems at that time. Despite his short life, he wrote many poems and contributed greatly to the development of English literature. His poem, A Red, Red Rose, has been translated into many languages and is liked by people throughout the world.

Generally speaking, top brand products are no doubt better than nameless ones, but not everyone can afford them.
As students, we don’t earn money ourselves. It’s not easy for our parents to support us. So I use whatever they choose for me now. We can’t add to their loads.
Some students like to show off their top brand products, but they can’t gain real respect and admiration from that. However, real respect admiration belongs to those who study hard and have good virtues.
Many top brands have something to do with sports, but it is not because you wear top brand products that you can win the match, so in my opinion, there is no need to care so much about the brands of what you swear.

Dear classmates, I think it is very necessary for us to talk about friendship at the meeting today.
As a member of society, we need friends and friendship. Healthy friendship may help people get on well and benefit one another. On the contrary, unhealthy friendship may bring about bad things. For example, some so-called friends bully others in the school; they often smoke or drink together; they never point out each other’ s mistakes. Such deeds are against school rules. In fact, they are doing harm to their friends. In my opinion, friendship should be based on the love of our class. Friends should help each other with study or in making progress. What’s more, we should encourage each other, never cover up each other’s mistakes, so that we may learn well and achieve great success.

In China, more and more people own their cars and traffic accidents happen frequently, which has a bad effect on the whole society. In view of the existing situation, we held a heated discussion on it.
We all share the opinion that the cause of accidents is mainly due to careless drivers who don’t follow the traffic laws and regulations. Could you imagine what will happen for a heavy drinker if he drives his car at a high speed? The injuries and possible deaths will give him an unforgettable lesson, let alone the compensation to be paid. It is obvious to us that crowded roads lead to traffic accidents as well.
In conclusion, we suggest that people should make sense of traffic law and regulations and strengthen their awareness of safety.
