　　Newspapers and the Internet

　　Since the arrival of newspapers the world has greatly changed in many ways.With a sheet of newspaper in hand，one is able to keep up with the latest news around the world without even having to leave his house.Nowadays，however，the newspaper is more and more in the danger of being replaced by the rising IT industry on the World Wide Web，and for many young people，newspapers have become a thing of the past.

　　It seems that the functions of newspapers cannot be compared to those of the Internet in at least three ways.

　　First，the newspaper is no match for the Internet in speed.Information of any kind can travel through the Internet at a speed of up to 300,000,000 meters per second.In a world where time means money，the newspaper is sure to lose for this reason alone.

　　Second，information carried by the Internet can take the form of sound，live show，and even interaction between the program and the audience.In a newspaper，only few photographs could be seen in news stories surrounded by black words.As you can see，the Internet gives us a much more colorful description of the world than the newspaper.

　　Last but not least，the technology used in the Internet makes it possible for us to get a more objective and matter­of­fact point of view.On the Internet，we can read details of news that are absent in the newspaper.

　　In a word，though the newspaper is still used by many as a main provider of news，it will give way to the Internet sooner or later.
