山西省永济市涑北中学高三英语总复习：美文欣赏（2）（You Are My Life）

　　There was a boy who was sent to a boarding school. He used to be the brightest student in his class. He was at the top in every competition.

　　But things changed after that. His grades started dropping. He hated being in a group. He was lonely all the time. He felt worthless and that no one loved him.

　　His parents began to worry. But even they did not know what was wrong. So his dad decided to visit the school and talk with him.

　　They sat on the bank of the lake near the school. The father started asking him casual questions about his classes, teachers and sports. Then he asked, “Do you know, son, why I am here today?”

　　The boy said, “To check my grades?”

　　“不，不，”父亲说，“我来这儿是想告诉你，你是对我来说最重要的人。我想要你快乐。我不在乎成绩，我只在乎你。我在乎你的快乐。

　　你是我的生命。”

　　这些话使男孩的眼睛里充满了泪水。他抱住了父亲。彼此许久都默默无言。

　　现在，男孩拥有了他想要的一切。他知道在这个世界上有人在深深地关心着他。对于那个人而言，他意味着整个世界。今天，这个年轻人上了大学，名列前茅，没人再见他哀伤过！

　　感谢你，爸爸！你是我的生命。
