美国总统奥巴马8日发表农历蛇年贺词，祝全球所有庆祝农历新年的人幸福安康。

奥巴马说，值此佳节之际，他与夫人米歇尔向所有庆祝农历新年的人送上最诚挚的祝福，祝他们幸福安康。

奥巴马在贺词中说，根据中国传统，蛇代表着智慧和深思熟虑。他认为，这一精神可以作为在新一年应对各种挑战的指导，也可以帮助美国民众创造更为公正平等的未来。

Michelle and I send our warmest wishes to all those who will be celebrating the Lunar New Year this Sunday, February 10th. Here in America and around the world, people of Asian and Pacific Islander descent will welcome the Year of the Snake.

In Chinese tradition, the snake represents wisdom, and a thoughtful approach to tackling the challenges before us – principles that I hope will continue to guide us as we perfect our union and create a more just and equal future for every American. Our challenges may be great, but our diversity and the traditions that thrive here give us the strength to meet them. To everyone celebrating the Lunar New Year, I wish you peace, prosperity and good health and fortune.
