Brazil's polemic striker Adriano left for Italy on Wednesday to return to his Italian team Roma FC.

Adriano had been in Brazil ever since the operation on his right shoulder. He suffered an injury during a match against Lazio on January 19, necessitating surgery.

During his stay in Rio de Janeiro, Adriano was frequently seen out on the town drinking.

Adriano was give an ultimatum by Roma, which stated that if he was not on a plane by February 23, his contract would be terminated.
