Wolfsburg signed Monaco striker Dieumerci Mbokani and Kaiserslautern striker Srdjan Lakic, the club announced on Thursday.
Monaco striker Mbokani, 25, was transferred with immediate effect to the Wolves on loan until the end of the season with a buyer's option. Mbokani scored 39 goals in 87 matches for his former club Standard Liege.
"He is a fast and athletic striker whom we had an eye on, during his time at Liege. We lend him and ensured a buyers option to leave the door open," manager Dieter Hoeness said.
Mbokani joined the national team in 2006 since that time he scored 8 goals in 14 matches. He started practice and received his jersey with the number 25 at Wolfsburg.
"I'm accepted and the atmosphere within the team is great. I m very happy with the transfer to Wolfsburg and I'm lucky to be here, " Mbokani said.
The other new Wolfsburg signing, striker Lakic, signed a four- year contract on a free transfer starting at the July 2011.
"Lakic is a classic center forward. He is ambitious and strong minded which fits perfect for us," manager Hoeness said. Lakic is now on fourth position at the goal getter standings of German Bundesliga with 11 goals in 17 matches.
"I'm glad that the transfer worked out. It is a big challenge for me. Wolfsburg is a great club with even greater aims where I hopefully play an important part," 27-year-old new arrival Lakic said.
