Cuban Dayron Robles said here on Tuesday that he is ready to break the existing world record of 7.30 seconds in the 60 meters hurdles indoor.
"If I get more strength at the start, the record will be mine," Robles said.
The current record belongs to British Colin Jackson since 1994.
Robles set the world record for the 110 meters hurdles in 12.87 seconds in 2008.
Talking about his rivals, Robles acknowledged the level of the U.S team describing David Oliver as the best, and added that the return of Chinese Liu Xiang "should make 110m hurdles outdoors an ideal show".
Robles, crowned world champion in Qatar 2010, said that "the possibility that someone could beat his world record won't make him lose sleep."
