AC Milan has officially signed Italy striker Antonio Cassano after the January transfer window has opened, the club announced on Monday.
As Cassano has already been training with Milan for several days in Dubai, the club announced on its Web site Monday that it has acquired his full rights.
Cassano was left in limbo by Sampdoria after he fell out with club president Riccardo Garrone, then AC Milan managed to salvage him after completing a transfer concerning three parties -- Real Mardrid, Sampdoria and AC Milan.
Cassano is now eligible to play against Cagliari as a Milan player when Serie A resumes Thursday.
