 The Botafogo soccer team named its first addition to the 2011 roster on Wednesday. Midfielder Lucas is the team's newest member for next season.

Lucas, a former member of Figuierense, signed a five-year contract with Botafogo.

The player is expected to receive his official presentation to the club on January 5.

Lucas said that he was thrilled to land at Botafogo and that he intended on helping the team to multiple titles in the next year.

Botafogo is also close to signing midfielders Marcio Azevedo and Joao Felipe. The club hopes to close negotiations before the year's end.
