Park Ji Sung's goal did not only give Manchester United a 1-0 win over archrival Arsenal at the Old Strafford on Monday, but also pushed the Red Devils to the top of the Premier League standings.

Both sides showed their ambition to win since the start with the hosts looking more threatening in attack. Wayne Rooney and Luis Nani tested Gunners goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny several times but it was South Korean international Park who managed to complete the final strike after 41 minutes.

Park, 29, controlled his body well to make a fadeaway header, sending Nani's deflected cross from the right of the box into the net.

It was Park's fourth goal against Arsenal and the sixth for Man United this season.

Aresene Wenger had to bring on injured captain Francesc Fabregas 14 minutes after the interval, but only saw his team almost suffer another blow 10 minutes later.

Man United were awarded a penalty after Gael Clichy was judged for handball while he was trying to stop Nani to past him. But Rooney drove the ball wide, wasting the best chance for Man United to double the lead.
