体坛英语资讯：Guardiola hopes form with last into 2011

 Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola said this Wednesday that he hopes his side's incredible run of form will last into the New Year.

The BBVA Primera Liga leaders carried the impressive domestic form that has seen them score 16 goals in their last three league matches into Europe on Tuesday night.

Guardiola rested several first team players for his side's Champions League tie against Rubin Kazan and was rewarded by 2-0 win with both of Barca's goals scored by B-teamers Victor Vazquez and Fontas.

Speaking in sports paper, Diario AS on Wednesday, Guardiola was delighted with the players who have progressed through the youth system on a night when 11 youth team products turned out in the duration of the 90 minutes.

"They played well. They have to learn and they have it in their hands to become the Barcelona players of the future. We can't ask too much of them at the moment, but I think they are going to help us resolve matches," said Guardiola.

Barcelona went into the match with their place in the last 16 of the Champions League already confirmed. His side could meet rivals such as Inter Milan, AC Milan or possibly Arsenal in the knockout phase, but Guardiola appeared to be more worried about his players maintaining their physical fitness into 2011 rather than Barca's next rivals.

"I don't mind who we play, everyone you play in the last 16 is going to be a very difficult opponent, but I don't know if we will be playing as well in February as we are at the moment," said Guardiola.

Barcelona return to domestic action this Sunday when they entertain Real Sociedad in the Camp Nou stadium aiming to retain their leadership of the Primera Liga.
