Hosting Atletico-PR in the 34th round of the Brazilian Championship, Flamengo lost 1-0 on Sunday and the visitors climbed in the ranks and are hopeful of a spot in the 2011 Libertadores Cup.

Atletico-PR scored the first half's only goal. In the 39th minute, veteran and team captain Paulo Baier drove a stopped ball through the middle of the defensive wall of players. Flamengo's keeper Marcelo Lomba was unable to locate the ball and watched as it sailed into the left side of the goal.

The loss keeps Flamengo stationed in 13th place with 40 points. The team returns to action in the 35th round when they travel to face Atletico-MG on November 13.

The result improves Atletico-PR four positions, landing in fifth place with 53 points. With only four rounds of play remaining, the team is in the hunt to place among the top-four and qualify for the 2011 Libertadores Cup. In the next round of play, it will receive Gremio Prudente on November 14.
