体坛英语资讯：Markarian arrives in Peru to coach national team

Uruguayan coach Sergio Markarian arrived here on Friday to be the coach of the Peruvian national soccer team for the America Cup 2011 and the qualification to the World Cup 2014.

Markarian was welcomed by members of the Peruvian Federation of Soccer (FPF) at the international airport of Lima-Callao, but he did not talk to the press.

However, FPF spokesman said that Markarian will be officially presented on Friday noon during a press conference.

Markarian had coached the Peruvian clubs of Universitarios and Sporting Cristal, and he has an approval rate of 61 percent.

The Peruvian team finished last in South American qualifying for the 2010 World Cup.
