Scottish Premier League star Kirk Broadfoot has been arrested on Tuesday after alleged assaulting a man during a post-season break in Scotland.

The Rangers defender was on holiday with a group of friends in the seaside town of Ayr after helping Rangers retain the Scottish Premier League title when he was stopped by police following an incident outside a block of flats.

The 25-year-old Scotland international faces charges of assaulting a man and breach of the peace and will appear at Ayr Sheriff Court later this month.
