Tunisian soccer club Esperance Sportive de Tunis (EST) won the country's first division soccer league for the second consecutive year on Thursday.

"We work hard in the past few years and Esperance succeeded in making it a courageous team whose performance has improved from one year to another," the club's president Hamdi Meddeb was quoted as saying by the official TAP news agency.

"The title defense was hard given the performance of other opponents, but the team was confident in its capabilities," he added.
