Russia's Zaitseva, Germany's Magdalena Neuner and Germany's Simone Hauswald (L-R) celebrate after the women's 12,5 km mass start biathlon final at the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics in Whistler, British Columbia, February 21, 2010
"I would need to sit down first and realise it. At first, winning a medal is really stressful, because everyone is dragging you from here to there," she said after the competition.
Neuner will compete again on next Tuesday in the women's 4x6km relay.
When asked on how she managed to stay concentrated in her fourth competition, she said: "When you look at today's result, the whole team performed really well. The other girls are really strong, too, so I think that we've got a big chance in Relay."
Neuner's compatriot Simone Hauswald, who finished the track 7.3 seconds behind the champion, won the bronze medal.
