Rival soccer teams should pay to play Veracruz when it fields soccer star Cuauhtemoc Blanco as he draws more spectators for both teams, the club's president Quintana told media on Tuesday. "We brought players with quality including Mexico's best ever player Cuauhtemoc Blanco," Quintana said. "We are trying to create a league with more quality than it had been before," he added.

Quintana argues that his team, now playing in the second tier in Mexican soccer league, should be rewarded from bringing in top players like Blanco.

"The point is to bring stars to the league and I hope other teams in the league will also sign star players so we can have contests that benefit everyone financially," Quintana said.
