体坛英语资讯：Real Madrid President resigns

The president of Spanish soccer club Real Madrid, Ramon Calderon, resigned on Friday after being accused of fraud to an assembly of delegates from the club, local sports daily "Marca" said. Whereas the gravity of the situation, Calderon resigned, also pressed by the members of the directive board.

After the fraud scandal in the assembly of the club was exposed, Calderon admitted the fraud, but affirming he was also a victim.

According to Marca, the fraud was done during the members assembly on Dec. 7.

Marca showed pictures of how at least 10 people voted in favor of Calderon on the approval of the accounts of the club. However two people were not members of the club.

At the moment, the vice president of the club, Vicente Boluda, will be the president of Real Madrid till a summons for elections, once the national league finishes in summer.

Also Calderon is being made responsible for the dismissal of the German coach Bernd Shuster, as well as for the frustration of have not sign in Portuguese winger Cristiano Ronaldo.
