MADRID, Spain - Real Madrid climbed within two points of the lead in the Spanish league after beating Osasuna 2-0 Sunday.

Raul Gonzalez and Robinho scored a goal each for Madrid, which played its fourth straight game without David Beckham. He has an injured right knee and has a maximum of nine games left in his four-year Madrid career before joining the Los Angeles Galaxy in August.

Raul scored his fourth goal of the season in the 24th minute when he slid in to meet Emerson's header. Robinho added the second in the 80th after Osasuna goalkeeper Ricardo Lopez pushed the ball into his path from Gonzalo Higuain's cross.

Barcelona leads the league with 56 points, followed by Sevilla with 55 and Madrid with 54.

Sevilla, which is trying to win its first league title since 1946, was held to a 0-0 tie by Racing Santander.

Sevilla dominated the first half, but strikers Javier Chevanton and Luis Fabiano each missed good chances. Daniel Alves also hit the bar.

Sevilla is trying to win three titles this season. The team has reached the semifinals of the Copa del Rey and the quarterfinals of the UEFA Cup, which it won last season.

At the other end, Gimnastic stayed in last place after a 1-0 loss at Deportivo. Iago Iglesias scored from a direct free kick in the 58th minute.
