“绅士厕所”能否解决女厕供不应求困局

在公众厕所的高峰期，往往能看到这样一种情景：男厕所进出迅速，来去自如，女厕所门前却往往排起长龙，一些内急的女士只能跺脚干着急。台湾东海大学工业设计系硕士班陈诗盛与赖昱儒设计出一种新概念厕所“绅士厕所”(Gentolet)是由。解决女厕供不应求的问题，并获得有“设计奥斯卡奖”之称的德国红点设计奖。

This unisex public toilet module, which straddles the male and female bathrooms, has been designed to ease the problem of long female queues.

这种男女通用的公共厕所设在男厕所和女厕所中间，设计初衷是为了缓解女厕所前排长队的问题。

There are often long queues for the use of women’s public toilets – a result of the fact that females can take up to three times longer than males to use the bathroom. Despite this habit, male and female bathrooms are typically the same size.

女士使用的公共厕所前经常排起长龙，每位女士使用厕所的时间能到男士使用时间的三倍多。尽管有这种使用习惯，男女厕所的数量经常相等。

Gentolet is a toilet module that has been designed to sit between the male and female bathrooms, and serve both. It increases the rate of cubicle use per unit area. When there are no male users, the toilet becomes accessible to the female side. When the door on the males’ side is open, the door on the females’ side is automatically locked, and vice versa. Privacy for each side is thus maintained.

“绅士厕所”建在男厕和女厕之间，男女均可使用。它增加了每一单位面积上厕所间的使用率。厕所间里没有男士使用时，女士可以入内。当厕所间位于男厕那边的门打开后，位于女厕这边的门就会自动锁上，反之亦然。因此能保证私密性。
